The #1 fear in the U.S. is public speaking; the #2 fear is death. People would rather die than speak in public. The only solution to this fear is to learn how to effectively speak in front of a public audience, and Cherokee High School's Speech and Debate team offers many public speaking opportunities for students.

As an added bonus, competing for our Speech & Debate team offers many opportunities to win prestigious awards that look amazing on a college application. With the correct amount of effort put forth, being a Speech & Debate team member pays off quickly in job experience, college readiness, public speaking skills, and political knowledgability!
